Finance Brain. Human Heart. Strategic Change.
Hi, I’m Gena.
For over 25 years, I’ve navigated the corporate world with a calculator in one hand and a compass for culture in the other. I am an award-winning Cultural Strategist, Inclusion Executive, and Career Coach who believes that culture isn’t just a “nice-to-have”—it is a performance driver.
The Professional Journey
My career didn’t start in HR. It started in the rigorous world of Finance, managing multi-million dollar P&Ls and driving operational efficiency for Fortune 500 giants like Johnson & Johnson and Motorola. I know how businesses run, which is why I know that businesses run best when their people are thriving.
Most recently, as the Inclusion and Impact Lead at Omnicom Health Group, I spent five years translating high-level vision into action across 33 global agencies. I don’t just talk about change; I build the frameworks that make it stick—from designing first-of-their-kind creative review processes to spearheading learning journeys with 95% employee participation.
The Next Chapter: 2025 & Beyond
In 2025, I expanded my work to serve both organizations and individuals:
- Cultural Strategy Consultancy: I launched my own practice to partner directly with organizations, helping them align their corporate values with everyday actions through audits, assessments, and strategy.
- Impact Academy: I founded a career coaching program designed for professionals who feel stuck and are ready to break through to their next chapter.
- The Weight Within: I co-host a podcast exploring the intersections of personal growth, well-being, and authenticity.
Speaking & Recognition
I am proud to be recognized as a 2024 OnConference Top 50 DEI Professional and one of the Elite 100 Extraordinary Black Women Leaders. I have served as a keynote speaker and moderator for organizations including ALPFA, NABA, Rutgers University, and Hampton University.
The “Real” Me
I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I know… You didn’t expect me to say I was Canadian, eh? Well, I am, and before you ask: yes, I love poutine, maple syrup, and hockey. I’m the big sister to a younger brother and sister who are truly blessed to have me.
